The cost of a PS5 HDMI port repair in Finland is mostly labour, not parts. The port itself is a small connector, but it is soldered to the motherboard, so the console has to come apart completely and the old port has to be desoldered without damaging the board. Prices vary between shops; what matters more is what the price covers and what happens if the board turns out to be damaged.

Most of the price is the work. iFixit describes the PS5 HDMI port as soldered to the motherboard, needing soldering and board-level repair skills to install, and the answers on its forum put it more bluntly: you have to completely dismantle the console and be skilled at microsoldering.
Three things move the price between shops. How the job is quoted: a fixed price or an estimate that can grow. What else is in it: a test on a 4K HDR screen, a clean while the console is open. And the state of the board: if pads or traces under the old port are already damaged, rebuilding them is extra work on top of the port swap, and it should be priced separately and agreed before it's done.
What a proper port replacement includes
A proper PS5 HDMI port replacement is full disassembly, a clean desolder, a new port soldered straight and flat, and a picture test at the console's highest output before it goes back to you. A shop quoting the job should be able to tell you it covers all of this:

- —Cleaning the pads and checking the small components around the port

The small components matter more than they look. On iFixit, one owner who replaced the port himself got no picture, and the thread traced it to a damaged protection diode and missing capacitors near the HDMI circuit — parts that can be lost or overheated during the swap. Turnaround: how long it takes
The soldering itself is a few hours of work at most; when you get the console back depends on whether the shop has the right port for your model and how busy it is. Ask for a date when you book rather than trusting a number on a web page, and ask whether they will call you before going further if the board shows a surprise.

Warranty: Sony's guarantee and your rights
Sony's manufacturer guarantee for PlayStation hardware sold in Europe runs for one year from the date of purchase, and it doesn't cover accident, negligence or misuse. The guarantee terms also exclude damage caused by opening the casing or by repair outside a Sony-authorised service. A port torn by a yanked cable is physical damage, so it is unlikely to be covered even on a new console.
Separately from Sony, the seller is liable for defects under Finnish consumer law. That liability has no fixed time limit — it depends on how long a product like this can be expected to last — and a defect that appears within the first year is presumed to have been there at purchase. If your port failed on its own, without a drop or a pull, contact the seller or Sony before you pay anyone else. And for the repair itself: no law sets a warranty period for repair work, so ask each shop what theirs is and get it in writing.
Worth repairing, or buy a new PS5?
If the port is the only fault, repair is worth it: a new disc PS5 has had a European recommended price of €649.99 since 2 April 2026, and a port replacement costs a fraction of that.
It's less clear when the console already had other problems — shutdowns under load, a failing fan, storage errors — and the port is the latest in a list. Then ask the shop to look at the whole console before you decide, and get the price for everything, not just the port. Can I replace the PS5 HDMI port myself?+
Only with real microsoldering experience. You need a hot-air rework station, a preheater or hot plate, flux, good magnification and a replacement port that matches your PS5 revision. The usual first-attempt failures are lifted pads, knocked-off small components and a port soldered at a slight tilt. If you have never done surface-mount rework, don't learn on a working console.
Does a third-party repair void the PS5 warranty?+
Sony's guarantee excludes damage caused by opening the console or by repair outside an authorised service, so a third-party port swap on a console still under Sony's one-year guarantee can end that guarantee. The seller's liability under Finnish law is a separate right; if the fault isn't your doing, talk to the seller first.
What if a new port doesn't fix the picture?+
Then the fault is behind the port: a damaged component in the HDMI circuit, a trace, or the chip that drives the HDMI output. Ask the shop in advance how they handle that case — whether you pay for the port anyway and what further diagnosis costs.
Is the PS5 Slim HDMI port the same part?+
Not necessarily. Replacement ports are sold per model range — iFixit's lists original PS5 revisions CFI-10xx to 12xx — so the shop should confirm the right part for your console's model number (CFI-…), printed on its label.
