None of this is a hardware fault. It is Windows itself — and after enough years of updates, drivers and uninstalled programs, no amount of cleaning the fans will fix it.
Support ended in October 2025, so there are no more security updates. The machine still works — it just stops getting patched, and that is a slow problem rather than a loud one.
Usually TPM or Secure Boot switched off in firmware rather than a machine that is genuinely too old. Often a setting, occasionally a real limit — worth ten minutes to find out which.
Boots to the desktop and then does nothing useful for two minutes. Years of startup entries, half-removed antivirus and a drive that has never been looked at.
The new machine is fine, everything you need is on the old one, and nobody wants to be the person who moves it wrong.

An unsupported or worn-out Windows install does not fail loudly. It just gets slower, and less safe, in increments small enough that you stop noticing.
Windows 10 stopped receiving them in October 2025. Anything found after that stays open on your machine — and the machine will never tell you.
Two minutes to a usable desktop stops feeling wrong once you have lived with it for a year. People replace working hardware over this.
Moving files off a machine that still boots is an hour. Off one that no longer boots is a different job with a different price and no guarantee.
If everything you own lives on a single drive in a single machine, you do not have a backup — you have an original. Drives fail without warning.

Most jobs are one to two hours and we say which before we come. If it turns out to be more once we are in front of it, you hear that before the extra hour starts, not on the invoice.
Your data comes off first and gets checked. Then the clean install, the manufacturer's drivers, Windows Update run out, and your programs back on.
Signed in, printer and Wi-Fi connected, your files where you expect them. We open the folders with you rather than telling you they are there.

Do you sell Windows licences?+
No. We install and set up Windows, we do not sell keys. If your machine came with Windows the licence is usually tied to the board and reactivates by itself after a reinstall — that covers most laptops and prebuilt desktops we see. If you genuinely need a new licence, buy it from Microsoft or the machine's manufacturer and we will install with it. MopsiHuolto charges only for the hour of work.
Will I lose my files?+
No, because nothing is wiped until your data is off the machine and you have seen it. Documents, photos, desktop, downloads, browser profiles and saved passwords come across first. Keep your own copy of anything irreplaceable regardless — that is good advice whoever is doing the work. Data transfer on its own is €60/h, same rate as the install.
How much will it cost?+
€60/h with a one-hour minimum, and travel across Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kerava is included in that. A straightforward reinstall with your files moved back is usually one to two hours, so €60–€120. You get an estimate before we come out, and if the machine turns out to need more time you hear it before that hour starts.
My PC says it can't run Windows 11 — is that final?+
Often not. The usual cause is TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot switched off in the firmware rather than a machine that is genuinely too old, and turning them on is a settings change. Some processors really are below Microsoft's line, and then it is a real limit and we will tell you so. Send us the model and we will say which of the two you have before you book anything.
Can you do it remotely?+
Some of it. Sorting out a setting, cleaning up a slow startup or walking through a problem can be done over the phone or a remote session. A reinstall and a data transfer need the machine in front of us, so those are done at your table.
Is Windows 10 actually unsafe now?+
It still runs, and nothing stops working on a particular date. What stopped in October 2025 is security updates, so any flaw found after that stays open. If the machine handles your bank, your mail or your work, that matters. If it is offline in a workshop running one old program, it matters much less — tell us which it is and we will give you a straight answer instead of a sales one.
Do you come to me?+
Yes — this work is done at your home or office across Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa, and travel is included in the hourly rate. Kerava and anywhere else beyond Kehä III: we still come, with €0.50/km on top and travel for agreed work only.
