Does PS5 Pro come with liquid metal from the factory?+
Yes — Sony applied gallium-based liquid metal to the PS5 Pro APU at the factory, the same approach used in the base PS5. Over time and under heavy thermal cycling, this liquid metal can migrate off the die or degrade. Our service replaces it with fresh liquid metal and restores original cooling performance.
How much cooler will my PS5 Pro run after service?+
After liquid metal replacement and thermal pad service, PS5 Pro typically runs 15–18°C cooler under 4K load. Fan noise drops by 12–15 dB — from audible jet-engine ramp to near-silent operation during sustained gaming.
Will this void my Sony warranty?+
Opening the console voids the manufacturer warranty. We provide our own 90-day warranty covering the liquid metal application, thermal pad replacement and workmanship. If your Sony warranty has already expired, this service is the best way to restore peak cooling performance.
How long does the full service take?+
The complete PS5 Pro liquid metal + thermal pad service takes about 1.5 hours. This includes careful disassembly, thorough cleaning, liquid metal application, thermal pad replacement, precise reassembly and stress testing under 4K load.
Do you come to my location?+
Yes — most PS5 Pro cleaning is done at your home or office within Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kerava. Travel is €12 within the Kehä III ring, €12 + €0.50/km outside. Workshop drop-off is also available.
Is PS5 Pro harder to service than base PS5?+
The internal structure is very similar to PS5. Key differences: the vapor chamber is larger (more surface area, better thermal performance), and the GPU die is larger — liquid metal application requires slightly more precision to avoid the edges. We've serviced both models extensively and use the same ESD-safe bench for both.
