Why does stick drift happen on DualShock 4?+
Inside the stick module is a small carbon resistive track. Normal play wears it down — once it's worn, the controller reads movement even when the stick is perfectly centred. DualShock 4 uses ALPS RKJXV-series modules, the same family that led to a class action lawsuit in the US in 2020 over premature drift. Cleaning or recalibration helps for a few days at most. Only a full module swap actually fixes it. We use OEM-equivalent modules built to the same spec.
How much does it cost to fix one stick vs both?+
DualShock 4 v1 or v2: €25 for one stick, €35 for both done in the same controller. Prices are flat — parts, labour and a 90-day warranty included. No diagnostics fee.
What's the difference between DualShock 4 v1 and v2?+
v1 (CUH-ZCT1) is the original model — light bar only visible from the top. v2 (CUH-ZCT2) is the slimmer revision with the light bar visible on the touchpad face. The stick mechanism is identical on both, so pricing is the same. If you're not sure which you have, just bring it in — we'll identify it on the spot.
Can you repair DualShock 4 if it also has button or charging issues?+
We do stick replacements primarily, but if we're already inside the controller we can take a look at obvious button or port issues. Message us first with the full symptoms and we'll let you know what's possible in the same visit.
How long does the repair take?+
Most stick swaps are done within 1–2 working days from drop-off. If you need it back same-day, call ahead and we'll usually fit it in if a slot is free.
Do you give a warranty on the repair?+
Yes — 90 days on the swap. If the new module drifts within that window, we replace it again at no charge. The rest of the controller is still under whatever warranty Sony or the retailer gave you, since we only touch the stick module.
